Civic & Community Programs
American brewers and distributors are responsible corporate citizens who deeply
care about their employees, our customers, and the communities in which they do
business. Individually, collectively, and in partnership with nonprofit organizations,
brewers, importers and distributors have been prominent participants in these community
efforts:
- Corporate philanthropy: Brewers
and their charitable arms and Foundations have donated millions of dollars to community-based
organizations, including those involved with education, health care, the arts, social
services, and the environment.
- Diversity programs: Many of America’s
brewers have initiated programs to encourage a diverse workforce and supplier network.
- Education: Many beer industry members
operate or sponsor scholarship programs, including scholarships for minorities and
inner-city youth, and support programs and initiatives that provide educational
and leadership development opportunities.
-
Responsibility in Community programs: Brewers, importers and
distributors nationwide are sponsors of and participants in school education outreach, safe ride home programs, recycling
programs, alcohol-free after prom and graduation parties, training courses for licensed
beverage servers, and safe boating campaigns.
